OUR POLICY PLATFORM
FRRC’s platform is informed by the lived experiences of returning citizens from all walks of life, political persuasions, and regions of the state. Nearly 7,000 returning citizens filled out FRRC surveys, outlining the priorities and values of Florida’s returning citizen community.

Community Violence Intervention
In November 2022, FRRC launched a Community Violence Intervention (CVI) initiative called Peace Orlando. CVI is a proven community-based gun violence reduction strategy that is backed by extensive research and is endorsed by the U.S. Department of Justice as one of the most effective means of reducing violence.

For many returning citizens, voting is a step in a restorative journey. The state of Florida led many of these citizens to believe that they could exercise their right to vote, and then it arrested, jailed and charged them in front of their friends, families and neighbors. Voter integrity starts at the front end of our election process. We’ve created Bail and Legal Defense Funds to help financially challenged returning citizens who’ve been unjustly arrested for voting.

In Florida, hundreds of thousands of people with past convictions are not allowed to vote solely because they don’t have enough money to pay the fines and fees associated with their convictions. 100% of your tax-deductible donation is used to pay fines and fees for returning citizens so that everyone, regardless of income or wealth, can participate in our democracy.
